Lack of management causing deserted orchard
Improved fertilizer program promotes growth of strong tree and healthy leaves
The impact of the coronavirus is profound. It has also indirectly changed the development of domestic agriculture in Malaysia to some extent. Roy Lee who was originally engaged in the furniture business switched to durian planting because of the implementation of the MCO.

In fact, Roy Lee has already purchased a durian orchard of about 6 acres in Sungai Dua, Pahang. However, due to his furniture business, it is impossible to take care the orchard. It resulting in the orchard become deserted for a long time because of lack of proper management. This situation did not improve at all until he decided to spend his time in durian planting during the MCO.
There are 4 to 5 years old Musang King planted in the orchard. The original growth environment is not ideal and the tree vigor is poor. This makes Roy Lee who lacked durian planting experience felt frustrated. Fortunately, he obtained the assistance of the local agent, Mark and Alwyn from AgroBridge (M) Sdn Bhd. and since then strengthened his skill in managing fertilizer cultivation to reverse the situation.
Tree vigor improved in just a few months
In October 2020, the management of the durian orchard was improved. In just a few months, each one of the durian tree grew visibly healthy. The fertilizer formula that proposed to Roy Lee came from AgroBridge (M) Sdn Bhd. It includes Agro- Bridge 15-15-6-4, Innotec 12-12-17-2-8S, Bonica and Wuxal Ascofol.
AgroBridge 15-15-6-4 is aimed at small trees which is less than 3 years old. It effectively promotes green and larger leaves, which can blossom and bear fruit in a short time. After that, it can be converted to Complex Green Special 15-15-15-5CaO-6S (2 kg each time). At the same time, he insisted that the use of Bonica is really important. The formula of this product helps the growth of green leaves. The dosage for Bonica is 200 grams every 10 days.
For foliar fertilizer, Roy Lee listened to the advice and used Wuxal Ascofol (20 ml/20 liters of water) to resist extreme weather and enhance the stress resistance of his durian trees. Nevertheless, just a few months after applying the imported high-quality fertilizer from AgroBridge, most of Roy Lee’s durian trees are growing more visibly sturdy and greener. Under this circumstances, he will soon welcome a blossomed and fruitful tree and get a good harvest.
